Agents and Effective Communication

Many questions remain around how to effectively produce and support software with AI. Time will help tell what does and doesn’t work.

One trend that I have seen stay consistent is that engineers who communicate well are orders of magnitude more effective with AI.

This makes sense to me. The interface to these AI is natural language, and if one struggled to share a concept with a peer, write a spec, or define an API boundary with another team the same challenges will exist with AI agents.

Effective communication and strong system thinking will define successful software engineering in the future.
